Another very important family member had a birthday earlier this month. My husband celebrated his birthday on November 4th. It is so hard to believe that just one month before that we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary! God blessed me greatly when he led us to meet through work connections all those years ago.
I am so thankful that God not only led us to meet, he also led us to find a church home that became a very important part of our lives in those difficult days in the NICU. It was during those darkest first few weeks that my husband publicly accepted Jesus as his Savior and was baptized. During those difficult days we felt the true love of Christ as many in the church surrounded us with prayer. As our family grew in the years that followed, we became more involved in the church as we both grew in our relationship with Jesus and each other.
God’s grace got us through many other tough times and I am thankful that we have had the love of fellow believers each time a crisis arises. But even more, I am thankful that we have each other to share both the sorrows and the great joys day by day.
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:2-3
